Lam Soon Plantations is committed to embedding sustainability across all operations, including our estates, mills, suppliers, contracted parties, and all stakeholders affected by our business operations and conduct. We aim to contribute meaningfully to global sustainability agendas and uphold the highest standards of responsible business conduct.
We comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the requirements of RSPO, MSPO, and other relevant certification schemes, to ensure sustainable and transparent practices throughout our value chain.
In support of a sustainable future, we align our actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and conduct our operations in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We uphold a strict commitment to No Deforestation, No Development on Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE).
Lam Soon Plantations is committed to eliminating all forms of forced labour and child labour, upholding the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). We implement preventive and responsive measures to ensure a workplace free from intimidation and harassment (including threats), sexual harassment, abuse and violence across all operating units.
We uphold the principles of good governance and conduct our business ethically, guided by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations. In alignment with TCFD and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, we seek to strengthen climate-related and sustainabilityrelated governance, strategy, risk management, and performance metrics. We continuously improve our practices by monitoring performance, assessing risks and opportunities, and setting measurable targets consistent with global standards and the SDGs.

Environmental Policy

Lam Soon Plantations is committed to protecting the environment, reducing climate-related risks, and managing natural resources responsibly in line with national legislation and international sustainability standards.

  1. Compliance
    We comply with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and all other applicable environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  2. Climate Action & Emissions Reduction
    We measure our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions footprint and implement operational strategies to reduce emissions intensity across all units, in line with global climate disclosure frameworks (TCFD, IFRS S2).
  3. Zero Burning
    We strictly practice a No Open Burning policy throughout our operations, with exceptions only as permitted under EQA 1974 and the ASEAN Policy on Zero Burning.
  4. Protection of HCS/HCV Areas
    We are committed to identifying, preserving, and protecting High Carbon Stock (HCS) and High Conservation Value (HCV) areas. We prohibit hunting, trading, or killing of species listed under the IUCN Red List or protected by local law.
  5. Good Practices
    We conduct all agricultural and mill operations according to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  6. Resource Efficiency
    We strive to maximize productivity while minimizing negative environmental impacts throughout our value chain.
  7. Environmental Impact Assessment
    We conduct assessments on both positive and negative environmental impacts and develop robust mitigation and enhancement plans.
  8. No Planting on Peat
    We prohibit planting on peat soils, regardless of depth, in line with NDPE commitments.
  9. Responsible Land Use
    We prohibit development on land with gradients of 250 or greater, to prevent erosion and slope instability.
  10. Soil & Water Conservation
    We implement soil and water conservation practices—including terracing, trenching, and cover crops—especially during replanting.
  11. Organic Recycling
    We conduct inter-row frond stacking and apply Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) to promote nutrient recycling and conserve soil moisture.
  12. Waste Reduction
    We practice Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle principles to optimize waste management and reduce landfill use.


Social Policy

Lam Soon Plantations upholds human rights and fosters safe, fair, and respectful workplaces in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ILO Core Conventions, and GRI Social Standards.

  1. Human Rights Commitment
    We respect and protect human rights based on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO Labour Standards.
  2. No Forced or Trafficked Labour
    We are committed to the prevention and remediation of Forced Labour or Trafficked Labour throughout our operations via No Forced Labour Policy below:
    1. Voluntary employment with no abuse of vulnerable individuals; employment termination follows contractual terms.
    2. No deception or contract substitution in recruitment.
    3. No restriction of workers' movement beyond legal and procedural requirements.
    4. No isolation of workers.
    5. Zero tolerance for violence or harassment.
    6. No intimidation or threats.
    7. Workers always retain their own identity documents.
    8. No withholding of wages.
    9. No debt bondage; zero recruitment fee policy.
    10. Provision of safe, conducive living conditions aligned with the Minimum Standards of Housing Act 2019.
    11. No excessive overtime and working hours comply with national laws.
  3. No Child Labour
    We prohibit child labour in all operations and implement remediation measures when necessary. Children under 16 (local) or 18 (foreign) are not employed. We support access to education and welfare for all children in our operating areas.
  4. Equal Opportunity
    Promotion and employment decisions are made based on merit, without discrimination.
  5. Prevention of Sexual Harassment
    We prevent and address sexual harassment in accordance with the national Code of Practice.
  6. Women's Empowerment
    We promote the empowerment of women through the establishment of Gender Committees at operating sites.
  7. Reproductive Rights
    We respect the rights of women workers including their reproductive rights, maternal health and women's safety.
  8. Non-Discrimination
    We prohibit discrimination based on ethnicity, caste, nationality, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, union membership, political affiliation, age, or any other characteristic. This is applicable but not limited to recruitment, hiring, work scope, pay, benefits and access to training.
  9. Freedom of Association
    We respect workers' rights to form and join associations, participate in collective bargaining, and engage in Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) where available.
  10. Responsible Recruitment
    We conduct responsible recruitment based on equal opportunity and adherence to laws and regulations.
  11. Equal Treatment
    All workers including contract, migrant, casual and short-term receive fair and equal treatment regarding wages, benefits, and accommodations.
  12. Occupational Safety & Health (OSH)
    We commit to providing a safe and healthy working environment through:
    1. Compliance with OSHA 1994 and related guidelines.
    2. Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) based on Guidelines for Hazard Identification, Risk Analysis and Risk Control 2008.
    3. Establishing, implementing, and monitoring OSH plans.
    4. Provide employees with training and to create awareness that they are responsible for their occupational safety and health.
    5. We are committed to Prevent work-related illnesses, diseases, and injuries. Mechanisms to be established for workers to report and raise health and safety issues, including work related accidents, illnesses, diseases, injuries and emergencies.
    6. Provide necessary personal protective equipment's as per CHRA and HIRARC.
    7. Ensure that suppliers and contractors in our premises always abide by the safety and health procedures outlined by the company.
  13. Training & Awareness
    We provide training to workers, contractors, and stakeholders on sustainability policies and implementation.
  14. Grievance Mechanism
    We maintain a fair, transparent grievance and complaints process:
    1. All grievances are handled fairly in line with procedures.
    2. Responses are provided in a timely manner.
    3. Outcomes are communicated to relevant individuals,
  15. Protection of Whistleblowers
    Anonymity of complaints and whistle blowers will be protected ensuring no repercussions.
  16. Protection of Human Rights Defenders
    We protect Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) and prohibit retaliatory actions.


Governance Policy

Lam Soon Plantations is committed to strong governance, ethical conduct, and transparent sustainability reporting in alignment with TCFD, IFRS Sl/S2, GRI 2: General Disclosures, and certification requirements (RSPO, MSPO).

  1. Transparency and Availability of Information
    We maintain transparency in all RSPO and MSPO-related management documents and comply with certification guidelines.
  2. Ethical Business Conduct
    We are committed to Ethical Business Conduct and respect fair conduct of business and prohibit all forms of corruption, bribery and fraudulent use of funds and resources with all our associates, suppliers and contracted third parties.
  3. ConfidentialityWe protect the confidentiality of company and stakeholder information and prevent unauthorized disclosure.
  4. Efficient and Compliant Operations
    We operate efficiently and consistently to deliver high-quality products in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Continuous Improvement
    We establish and monitor management action plans to drive continuous improvement and good practices.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement
    We ensure effective communication with customers and stakeholders through established communication channels.

Pengumuman Kelestarian

Lam Soon Plantations komited untuk melaksanakan kesemua dasar kelestariannya merangkumi unit-unit operasi, pembekal, dan pihak kontraktor untuk menyumbang kepada agenda kemapanan. Kami akan meneruskan sokongan terhadap usaha kelestarian dan mematuhi keperluan undang-undang, RSPO, MSPO dan juga persijilan yang akan mempastikan kelestarian unit operasi kami (ladang dan kilang).
Untuk mempastikan masa depan yang lestari, pihak syarikat telah menyumbang kepada UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Kami komited untuk Tidak Ada Penyahhutanan, Tidak Ada Penanaman di Tanah Gambut, dan Tidak Ada Eksploitasi.
Kami komited untuk membasmi segala bentuk Buruh Paksa, Buruh Kanak-Kanak dan menegakkan konvensyen teras Standard Buruh, International Labour Organization (ILO). Tindakan untuk menghalang ganguan seksual dan keganasan telah dijalankan di kesemua unit operasi kami.
Kami komited terhadap Tadbir Urus yang Baik dan menjalankan perniagaan secara beretika sejajar dengan pendekatan Environmental Social Governance (ESG). Kami berusaha untuk penambahbaikan berterusan melalui pengukuran prestasi penanda aras kami dan menetapkan sasaran yang sejajar dengan UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Polisi Alam Sekitar

  1. Kami komited untuk mematuhi Akta Kualiti Alam Sekitar 1974 dan semua undang-undang dan garis panduan yang berkaitan.
  2. Kami komited untuk “Tiada Pembakaran Terbuka” di semua unit operasi kami dan mematuhi pengecualian di dalam EQA 1974 dan ASEAN Policy on Zero Burning.
  3. Kami komited untuk memulihara kawasan Stok Karbon Tinggi (HCS) dan kawasan Konservasi Bernilai Tinggi (HCV). Pihak syarikat melarang aktiviti memburu, menjual atau membunuh spesies yang tersenarai di dalam List Merah IUCN dan dilindungi oleh kerajaan tempatan.
  4. Menjalankan operasi kami mengikut Amalan Baik Perladangan dan Amalan Baik Pengilangan.
  5. Kami komited untuk memaksimumkan pengeluaran sementara meminimumkan impak negatif operasi kami terhadap alam sekitar.
  6. Menjalankan penilaian impak positif dan negatif serta menubuhkan pelan tindakan yang kukuh dan berterusan untuk mengurangkan impak negatif dan menggalakkan impak positif.
  7. Kami mengamalkan “Tiada Penanaman di Tanah Gambut” tidak kira kedalamannya.
  8. Tiada penanaman pada kawasan yang kecerunannya 25o darjah ke atas.
  9. Memastikan langkah pemuliharaan tanah dan air seperti penteresan, pemparitan dan penanaman tanaman penutup bumi dilaksanakan.
  10. Mengambil langkah melonggokan pelepah sawit dan tandan kosong (EFB) di antara baris pokok untuk kitar semula nutrien dan mengekalkan kelembapan tanah.
  11. Kami mengamalkan “Kurangkan, Guna Semula dan Kitar Semula” untuk mengoptimumkan penggunaan tapak pelupusan sampah.


Polisi Sosial

  1. Lam Soon Plantations menghormati hak asasi manusia yang ditetapkan oleh UN Universal Declaration on Human Rights dan Konvensyen Teras ILO terhadap standard buruh di dalam semua operasi kami.
  2. Kami komited kepada Tiada Buruh Paksa atau Buruh Diperdagangkan di seluruh operasi kami melalui Polisi Tiada Buruh Paksa di bawah:
    1. Tiada penderaan kepada mereka yang terdedah, dan pengambilan pekerjaan berdasarkan suka rela dengan persetujuan bersama melalui kontrak perjanjian.
    2. Tiada penipuan semasa proses pengambilan pekerja termasuklah melarang penggantian perjanjian.
    3. Tiada sekatan pergerakan ke atas semua pekerja berlandaskan prosedur syarikat, undang-undang dan peraturan tempatan.
    4. Tiada sebarang bentuk pengasingan kepada pekerja.
    5. Tiada sebarang tindakan keganasan dan gangguan dibenarkan di dalam operasi kami.
    6. Tiada intimidasi dan ancaman kepada pekerja.
    7. Dokumen pengenalan diri adalah disimpan oleh pekerja sendiri dan digunakan mengikut keperluan mereka.
    8. Tiada pemegangan gaji di amalkan.
    9. Tiada perhambaan hutang dan syarikat melaksanakan yuran pengambilan sifar.
    10. Larangan terhadap suasana kerja dan tempat tinggal yang mendera. Suasana kerja kondusif telah disediakan sejajar Akta Standard Minimum Perumahan dan Kemudahan Pekerja (Pindaan) 2019.
    11. Tiada kerja lebih masa yang berlebihan dan masa kerja adalah sejajar peruntukan undang-undang dan Peraturan tempatan.
  3. Larangan terhadap buruh kanak-kanak di semua operasi syarikat. Kami komited untuk memastikan kebajikan dan perlindungan ke atas kanak-kanak. Kami mempastikan akses kepada pendidikan untuk kanak-kanak di semua unit operasi kami. Tiada kanak-kanak tempatan berumur di bawah enam belas tahun atau kanak-kanak asing berumur di bawah lapan belas tahun bekerja.
  4. Peluang sama rata untuk mendapat promosi kepada semua berdasarkan merit dan budi bicara majikan tanpa sebarang diskriminasi.
  5. Kami komited untuk pencegahan dan penghapuskan gangguan seksual di tempat kerja mengikut Kod Amalan dalam Prevention and Eradication of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, 1999.
  6. Kami komited terhadap pemerkasaan wanita melalui penubuhan Jawatankuasa Jantina.
  7. Kami menghormati hak reproduktif wanita. Penilaian diajalankan terhadap keperluan wanita untuk penyusuan bayi, dan waktu rehat spesifik untuk membolehkan penyusuan yang efektif.
  8. Kami komited terhadap tiada diskriminasi di tempat kerja tanpa mengira etnik asal, kasta, negara asal, agama, kecacatan, jantina, orientasi seksual, identiti jantina, keahlian dalam kesatuan, gabungan politik, atau umur.
  9. Kami menegakkan hak pekerja untuk membentuk asosiasi dan tawar-menawar kolektif untuk mewakili mereka di dalam berurusan dengan majikan berkenaan hal-hal pekerjaan ataupun isu-isu sosial.
  10. Kami komited untuk menjalankan proses pengambilan pekerja secara bertanggungjawab dan patuh kepada undang-undang dan peraturan tempatan. Kami menyediakan peluang pekerjaan sama-rata kepada semua tanpa sebarang diskriminasi.
  11. Semua pekerja diberi layanan sama-rata seperti pekerja tetap untuk terma-terma penggajian, faedah, dan penginapan.
  12. Kami komited dalam menubuhkan pelan keselamatan dan kesihatan untuk menyediakan dan mengekalkan suasana kerja yang selamat dan sihat kepada pekerja, pelanggan serta pelawat kami. Pihak syarikat komited untuk mengambil langkah yang munasabah untuk mencegah kemalangan pekerjaan dan mempromosikan tempat kerja yang selamat dan sihat kepada semua pihak berkepentingan. Untuk memenuhi komitmen ini, kami telah menubuhkan Polisi Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan seperti di bawah:
    1. Mematuhi OSHA 1994 dan semua peraturan berkaitan keselamatan dan kesihatan pekerjaan di tempat kerja.
    2. Menjalankan Pengenalpastian Bahaya, Penilaian Risiko dan Kawalan Risiko (HIRARC) berdasarkan Garis Panduan untuk Pengenalpastian Bahaya, Penilaian Risiko dan Kawalan Risiko, 2008.
    3. Menubuhkan pelan keselamatan dan kesihatan pekerjaan, melaksanakannya, dan memantau pelan tersebut di tempat kerja.
    4. Menyediakan pekerja dengan latihan untuk mewujudkan kesedaran berkenaan tanggungjawab pekerja di dalam keselematan dan kesihatan pekerjaan.
    5. Menyediakan peralatan perlindungan diri yang diperlukan berlandaskan CHRA dan HIRARC.
    6. Memastikan pembekal dan kontraktor di dalam premis syarikat sentiasa mematuhi prosedur keselamatan dan kesihatan yang digariskan pihak syarikat.
  13. Kami komited untuk menjalankan latihan yang berkaitan kepada semua pekerja, kontraktor, dan pihak berkepentingan tentang polisi kelestarian syarikat dan pematuhan mana-mana yang berkenaan.
  14. Kami komited kepada mekanisme rungutan, aduan, dan permintaan yang adil dan telus. Polisi Ketelusan kami ialah:
    1. Semua rungutan, aduan, dan permintaan pekerja dan pihak berkepentingan akan diuruskan mengikut prosedur.
    2. Rungutan, aduan, dan permintaan hendaklah diuruskan di dalam jangka masa yang bertepatan.
    3. Dapatan dan kesimpulan hendaklah dikemukakan kepada individu yang berkaitan.
  15. Anonimiti pengadu dan pemberi maklumat akan dilindungi untuk memastikan tiada akibat yang tidak diingini.
  16. Kami komited untuk melindungi Pembela Hak Asasi Manusia dan melarang pembalasan ke atas mereka.


Tadbir Urus

  1. Lam Soon Plantations komited untuk ketelusan berkaitan dokumen-dokumen untuk keperluan dan garis panduan RSPO dan MSPO.
  2. Kami komited kepada Tata Kelakuan Perniagaan Beretika dan menghormati tata kelakuan perniagaan yang adil serta melarang segala bentuk korupsi, rasuah, salah guna dana dan sumber dengan semua asosiasi, pembekal dan kontraktor pihak ketiga.
  3. Kami komited untuk melindungi kerahsiaan maklumat syarikat dan asosiasi kami daripada pendedahan maklumat penting tanpa kebenaran yang mana bukan untuk kebaikan syarikat.
  4. Kami komited untuk menjalakan perniagaan kami secara efisen dan menyampaikan produk berkualiti tinggi secara kosisten tanpa mengabaikan undang-undang dan peraturan tempatan.
  5. Kami memastikan bahawa pihak syarikat membangunkan pelan tindakan pengurusan, amalan baik dan penambahbaikan berterusan. Implementasi akan dipantau secara berkala.
  6. Kami berusaha untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan yang cemerlang kepada pelanggan dan pihak berkepentingan kami. Pihak pengurusan dapat dihubungi melalui saluran komunikasi yang telah dibangunkan.
